Honda Fit Tops Best Value List

Looking for the most bang for your buck? Well, according to Consumer Reports, look no further than the Honda Fit. That's right, the go-to consumer guide just published their annual list of the best values in the new-car market, and not only did Japanese automakers dominate the list, the Fit ranked the best in its category as well as ranking best overall.

Consumer Reports looked at 200 different vehicles, and awarded 48 vehicles with best value awards based on road tests, reliability ratings, ownership costs, and depreciation value of a five-year term.  And yes, the fun-to-drive, wallet-conscious, gas-sipping Fit topped them all - even as the market for small, budget-friendly cars expands almost daily.

"A low price doesn't necessarily make a car a good value," says Rik Paul, Automotive Editor at Consumer Reports, "A cheap vehicle can wind up costing you more money over time or can be disappointing down the road. We think real value is what you get for your money."1

We also want to make a point to say that of the 11 categories looked at by the publication, small cars consistently ranked higher than most other vehicles. That is to say, even the car that scored the lowest for best value in the small car category ranked above average in the overall scheme of things. So, essentially, if you're in the market for a small car, you really can't go wrong. And, we're pretty excited to see the Fit at the top of such a competitive list!
