Honda Plans Early Revamp of the Civic

You might be able to guess that the Honda Civic is one of the most popular compact cars on the road today. But it may surprise you to hear that Honda actually sells more Civics in the United States than some of their major competitors sell across their entire lineups! This is probably thanks in large part to the brand's strong backing, and the vehicle's overall dependability. But, after a recent grassroots meeting of Honda officials and dealers in the California area, we have a bit of slightly surprising news: The Civic is set to get some aggressive upgrades.
What's more? You'll probably see an all-new Civic roll into Kuni Honda, 10750 E Arapahoe Road Centennial, CO 80112 by the end of next year. That might seem like a short timeline, as the Civic only recently got a refresh for the 2012 model year. However, critics took one look at the 2012 Civic and then asked Honda for more. While it's clear the Civic has enough of a following for Honda to ignore requests for "an injection of testorone,"1, the Japanese automaker has never been one to shy away from a challenge.
How can they make one of the best even better? It's rumored that the exterior will be reminiscent of the Honda CR-Z, while keeping the dimensions of the current model Civic. Under the hood, Honda plans to implement a low-emission three-cylinder engine. And, the hybrid variant will get a 1.5-liter engine working with an electric motor to deliver a total of 124 ponies of power.
While we love the current model Honda Civic, which features some great additions (like the all-new Intelligent Multi-Information Display), we can't wait to see what else Honda has in store for this class-favorite compact. If you're curious, too, be sure to stayed tuned with the Kuni Honda blog for continued updates on this and all other Honda news. In the meantime, we invite you stop in and see us.
